Summary

The MozActivityOptions interface allows apps to declare the activity they want to create and also to access information of activities they want to handle.

When an application creates an activity by creating a MozActivity object, it has to pass a MozActivityOptions object. Then, when the activity is handled by the other application, a similar MozActivityOptions option can be found through MozActivityRequestHandler.source.

Specification

Web Activities is not part of any specification. However, it has some overlap with the proposed Web Intents specification. Mozilla actually proposed Web Activities as a counter proposal to Web Intents. For more information about this, see discussion on the Web Intents Task Force ML.
