  function(result) {...} // function
)

This API is also available as browser.browserAction.getTitle() in a version that returns a promise.

Examples

This code switches the title between "this" and "that" each time the user clicks the browser action:

var titles = ["this, that"];

function toggleTitle(title) {
  if (title == "this") {
    chrome.browserAction.setTitle({title: "that"});
  } else {
    chrome.browserAction.setTitle({title: "this"});
  }
}

chrome.browserAction.onClicked.addListener(() => {
  chrome.browserAction.getTitle({}, toggleTitle);
});
