The CanvasRenderingContext2D
.closePath()
method of the Canvas 2D API causes the point of the pen to move back to the start of the current sub-path. It tries to add a straight line (but does not actually draw it) from the current point to the start. If the shape has already been closed or has only one point, this function does nothing.
Syntax
void ctx.closePath();
Examples
Using the closePath
method
This is just a simple code snippet which uses the closePath
method.
HTML
<canvas id="canvas"></canvas>
JavaScript
var canvas = document.getElementById("canvas"); var ctx = canvas.getContext("2d"); ctx.beginPath(); ctx.moveTo(20,20); ctx.lineTo(200,20); ctx.lineTo(120,120); ctx.closePath(); // draws last line of the triangle ctx.stroke();
