This feature is not on a current W3C standards track, but it is supported on the Firefox OS platform. Although implementations may change in the future and it is not supported widely across browsers, it is suitable for use in code dedicated to Firefox OS apps.

The mozbrowsermetachange event is fired when a <meta> element related to web applications is added, removed or changed.

details

The details property returns an anonymous JavaScript object with the following properties:

name
A DOMString representing the <meta> name attribute value. This can be viewmode, theme-color, theme-group, or application-name.
content
A DOMString representing the <meta> content attribute value, i.e. the content of the meta tag.
type
A DOMString representing the type of meta change that this event object represents. This can be added, changed, removed, or undefined.
lang Optional
A DOMString representing the <meta> name attribute value, if included. If not included, the value returned is undefined.

browser.addEventListener("mozbrowsermetachange", function(event) {
