The ServiceWorkerGlobalScope.skipWaiting() method of the ServiceWorkerGlobalScope forces the waiting service worker to become the active service worker.
This method can be used with Clients.claim() to ensure that updates to the underlying service worker take effect immediately for both the current client and all other active clients.

ServiceWorkerGlobalScope.skipWaiting().then(function() {

A Promise.
Example
The following example causes a new version of a registered Service Worker to replace an existing one that is already installed, and replace the currently active worker on open pages.
