L'elemento HTML <aside> rappresenta una sezione della pagina con del contenuto connesso in modo tangenziale al resto, che potrebbe essere considerato separato dal contenuto. Queste sezioni sono spesso rappresentate come barre laterali o inserti. Spesso contengono delle definizioni sulle barre laterali, come definizioni da glossario; possono esserci anche altri tipi di informazione, come:  annunci correlati; la biografia dell'autore;  applicazioni web; informazioni sul profilo o link del blog correlato.

Usage notes:

  • Do not use the <aside> element to tag parenthesized text, as this kind of text is considered part of the main flow.
  • Content categories Flow content, sectioning content, palpable content.
  • Permitted contentFlow content.
  • Tag omission {{no_tag_omission}}
  • Permitted parent elements Any element that accepts flow content. Note that an <aside> element must not be a descendant of an {{HTMLElement("address")}} element.
  • DOM interface {{domxref("HTMLElement")}}
