This is an experimental technology
Because this technology's specification has not stabilized, check the compatibility table for usage in various browsers. Also note that the syntax and behavior of an experimental technology is subject to change in future versions of browsers as the specification changes.
The static SIMD.%type%.not()
method returns a new instance with the bitwise logical NOT of the lane values (~a
). This operation exists only on integer and boolean SIMD types.
Syntax
SIMD.Int8x16.not(a) SIMD.Int16x8.not(a) SIMD.Int32x4.not(a) SIMD.Uint8x16.not(a) SIMD.Uint16x8.not(a) SIMD.Uint32x4.not(a) SIMD.Bool8x16.not(a) SIMD.Bool16x8.not(a) SIMD.Bool32x4.not(a) SIMD.Bool64x2.not(a)
Parameters
- a
- An instance of a SIMD type.
Return value
A new corresponding SIMD data type with the bitwise logical NOT of the lane values (~a
).
Description
The bitwise NOT operation yields the inverted value (one's complement). The truth table for the NOT operation is:
a |
~a |
---|---|
0 | 1 |
1 | 0 |
For example, a bitwise NOT of ~5
results in 1010
which is 10 in decimal.
5 0101 ---- 10 1010
Examples
Bitwise NOT of an Int32x4
var a = SIMD.Int32x4(1, 2, 4, 8); SIMD.Int32x4.not(a); // Int32x4[-2, -3, -5, -9]
