Het HTML <aside> element staat voor een sectie waarvan de inhoud zijdelinks gerelateerd is aan de inhoud van de rest. De informatie die in het <aside>-statement staat, kan beschouwd worden als apparte inhoud. Deze secties worden vaak beschouwd als sidebars of invulling van een pagina. Ze bevatten soms definities in de sidebars, zoals definities uit een woordenboek; er kunnen ook andere soorten informatie in staan, zoals gerelateerde advertenties, de biografie van de auteur, webapplicaties, profielinformatie of gerelateerde links op de blog.
Usage notes:
- Do not use the
<aside>element to tag parenthesized text, as this kind of text is considered part of the main flow.
